In 1984 the Ainu traditional dance was designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of the country and was also registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in September 2009.In addition to the performances at many domestic places, our group performed in three major cities of India in 2013 with the aid of NPO Society to Promote India-Japan Cultural Relations and The Foundation for Research and Promotion of Ainu Culture The opportunities for exchange with various ethnic groups are increasing, and we are also focusing on making good relationships for mutual development.

Koyu, a Japanese drum performance group. We perform mainly on taiko drums and a variety of other traditional instruments. Since its formation, we'v been promoting traditional culture through local events and performances in Japan and abroad. Koyu's music is characterized by its power and delicacy, as well as its powerful and heartfelt tone. We also provide taiko instruction and workshops for children, helping to pass on the culture to the next generations.
