Biratori Ainu Culture Preservation Society

In 1984 the Ainu traditional dance was designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of the country and was also registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in September 2009.In addition to the performances at many domestic places, our group performed in three major cities of India in 2013 with the aid of NPO Society to Promote India-Japan Cultural Relations and The Foundation for Research and Promotion of Ainu Culture The opportunities for exchange with various ethnic groups are increasing, and we are also focusing on making good relationships for mutual development.

We perform creative taiko performances. In addition to the annual charity concert held in Inagi City every June, we also perform throughout the year at concert halls, festivals, educational institutions such as junior high schools, elementary schools, and kindergartens, as well as nursing homes and senior citizen homes.
